SSE Tour of Ulster - Stage 2

After a challenging 91km ride yesterday, the SSE Airtricity team are all set for Stage 2 of their Tour of Ulster cycle.

Nearly 30 staff members are aiming to raise €25,000 (£18,000) for a number of charities, including Marie Curie NI, the Irish Cancer Society and the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland, by completing a 300km cycle across Ulster over three days.

Stage 2 of the tour will see the cyclists pedal 114km from Ballyconnell in County Cavan to Ballybofey in County Donegal, taking in a number of landmarks along the way, including SSE’s Bessy Bell Wind Farm in County Tyrone.

Pat Tierney, Tour of Ulster organiser and participant, commented:

“We had a really enjoyable first day yesterday. There’s sure to be a few tired bodies this morning, but we’re all looking forward to setting off on Stage 2 of the tour. This will be the longest of the three stages. We’re travelling from Ballyconnell to Ballybofey, passing through a number of towns along the way, including Enniskillen, Irvinestown and Omagh.”
