SSE Airtricity is Right Place to Work – again!
SSE Airtricity was named Right Place to Work for the second year running at The Irish News Workplace and Employment Awards in Belfast last night. The 2017 award winners were announced at a gala dinner in Titanic Belfast, with around 600 guests from across the world of business in Northern Ireland in attendance.
SSE Airtricity once again picked up the prestigious award on the strength of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. These include its wind farm Community Funds, its third level Scholarship programme with Ulster University and South West College, and its Be the Difference employee volunteering programmes, as well as its innovative sustainable procurement partnership with Northern Ireland Health Trusts.
Speaking after the awards, SSE Airtricity NI General Manager, Andrew Greer said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have been named Right Place to Work for the second year in a row at The Irish News Awards, especially as this award recognises the positive difference that an organisation can make to the communities in which it operates, and in which its people live and work.
“At SSE Airtricity we believe that operating a sustainable business is about more than just environmental sustainability. We believe in doing the right thing at all times, being responsible in all that we do, and making a positive difference to people’s lives. In doing so, we can help to achieve environmental, social and economic well-being for current and future generations.
“We’re really proud that our wide range of sustainability initiatives and partnerships, especially those which are passionately championed by our employees, should be selected for this award once again by the judges at this year’s Irish News Awards. This award belongs to each and every member of our team.”
