Energy is the lifeblood of Ireland’s economy and society. The ability to attract and retain investment and sustain Irish enterprise depends on achieving a secure, sustainable supply of energy at a competitive cost. In the period to 2030, a key objective will be to effectively balance the competing challenges of delivering electricity and gas at a price that will be affordable for customers and businesses whilst ensuring secure energy supplies and the certainty needed to invest in low-carbon alternatives and smarter energy initiatives.

SSE is making three proposals to the Irish Government which we believe will offer sustainable solutions for the future to help ensure affordable, secure and low-carbon supplies of electricity and gas for Ireland’s homes and businesses.
